The TriStar vacuum works on a very different principle: The Tristar vacuum cleaner unlike uprights, does not push air through a bag. Tristar vacuums unlike canisters, does not pull air through a bag. The powerful TriStar vacuum motor directs the incoming air flow over the bag; impurities are caught in the bag because of a process called cyclonic action. Remarkably, cyclonic action allows the contents of the bag to be kept entirely out of the airflow. Even when the bag in the TriStar is practically full (a combination of a cloth bag and the traditional paper bag is used), the suction and airflow are unaffected. It is difficult for even the tiniest of particles to escape the TriStar's double action bag.
Unlike a conventional vacuum cleaning experience, several hours after vacuuming with a TriStar, you will never find a thin film of dust on your furniture and floor. Truly, it is a very unique machine. The TriStar is also solidly constructed, with a die-cast magnesium housing. The plastic housings of most vacuum cleaners invariably develop small air gaps as they are knocked over, banged against furniture, and pushed into corners. Even a small air gap substantially reduces the air flow - just like a garden hose with a pinprick-sized leak in the middle loses its effectiveness and water pressure. The magnesium die-cast TriStar housing is virtually indestructible and exceptionally airtight. After years of steady use, it retains its shape and integrity, and you notice no loss of suction or airflow.
Furthermore, in conventional vacuum cleaners,
once the bag begins to fill with dirt and other particles, the machine loses
power. The air will have to be pulled through a pile of dust and dirt as well as
the bag: The fuller the bag, the harder the job of pulling air through it; not
to mention the strain on the motor. When your vacuum cleaner stops picking
particles up, your bag is undoubtedly full. Even before that point, however,
your vacuum lost suction, power, and the cleaning ability when the bag was
half-full, quarter-full, even one-sixteenth full! We imagine you have noticed
that as well.
