Norelco History
The first Norelco razor appeared in the United States in 1939. Norelco has been an innovator and contributor to the entire category ever since.
In 1948, Norelco introduced the first single-headed rotary shaver.
In 1967, Norelco introduced the Tripleheader® razor, the most modern of electric razors.
In 1968, press reports revealed that one Norelco razor is sold every six seconds in the U.S.A.
The legendary Norelco Lift and Cut® Technology was introduced in 1987 and incorporated into every razor in the Norelco line.
The first wet/dry additive shaver, the Advantage Shaving System, was introduced by Norelco in 1998 and was an innovation for the entire electric razor category.
In 1999, Norelco introduced its Quadra Shaving System, with a 4-Stage Multi-Blade Cutting System which features unique slots for cutting long hairs and holes for removing tough stubble.
In 2001, Norelco introduced its new line of Beard & Moustache Trimmers featuring the AcuControl® System equipped with a flexible guide comb that precisely trims beards, moustaches, and sideburns with guaranteed professional results.
In 2002, Norelco introduced its Spectra Shaving System, which is the world’s only personalized razor with 9 adjustable comfort settings for sensitive to normal skin.
In 2003, Norelco is launching its Reflex Plus Shaving System, with its patented Reflex Action® which automatically adjusts to every curve on your face for flexible, smoother shaving.
In 2003, Norelco is also introducing the D-Finer Precise Shaper, with dual defining technology, allowing men to create their own personalized facial hair designs and styles.
